First week of freedom!

23 September 2014

I loved teaching pre-k, but I'm not going to lie, this past week has been so nice without having to go to work. I have gotten so many chores done around the house that I've been putting off... PLUS I've been able to sneak in an extra nap or two which feels so good (and it's doctor's orders- two naps a day LOL--but really).
Kyler's newly re-arranged/ organized room:
He sleeps on the twin bed, but we also have an extra crib (that we we're not planning on using for the twins) in there too (it's my mom's). I guess we might use it though if we find that one of the twins is sleeping through the night and the other is waking him/her up--but of course our twins are going to both sleep perfectly through the night all the time so we won't have that problem. hah. Kyler will sleep through anything.

A more few pics from this past week:

We made Trader Joes pumpkin pancakes one morning- OMG soooo good!

It's been a really good week, and I've loved being able to spend extra time at home with Kyler and Jared too!

Goodbye Goddard School

15 September 2014

Last week, Kyler and I said goodbye to the Goddard School. We had a great year! Kyler loved his afternoon class. He had great teachers, and they taught him so much! He turned into a little social butterfly at the Goddard School and made tons of cute little friends. I loved teaching my afternoon Pre-K class. My students were adorable, and I literally cried when some of them left to go to Kindergarten; they were like my own kids! I'll miss all of the memories, and wonderful coworkers I had, but I'm excited for what the future holds for our little family. We have 10-12 weeks to rest and prepare for our twins to arrive, and I'm looking forward to spoiling my little guy with attention!

We loved this school!

Kyler went through a phase when he was obsessed with these bristle blocks.

Preschool graduation day.

First and last days of preschool--- July 2013 and September 2014!

A journey... Weeks 20-25~

08 September 2014

We're moving right along.... previous journey posts here.
Today is Aug 25, 2014. Things are progressing so well this pregnancy and we couldn't be happier! I'm feeling beyond blessed to be carrying these sweet babies. They truly are miracles!

My ultrasound went very well today. I'm currently 23 weeks, and both babies are measuring about 24 weeks. Baby A (boy) is head down, and Baby B (girl) is breech:
We tried to get a good picture of their faces, but the way they are positioned, they are kicking each other in the face, and both of them had their arms/hands in front of their faces.

Baby Girl held still for a second for us though:

Our ultrasound tech lady said today:  "Your cervix is as long as the nile river. I do believe you were made to carry twins. I think God knew you were going to have twins so he gave you this body." I laughed, but I believe it's true too :)

We've spent a long time thinking about names, but due to my indecisiveness- we decided that we are going to name them when they are born this time.  I thought the planner inside me would go nuts over a decision like this, but oddly, it feels good~!

Today is August 30, 2014

This is what my very big twin baby belly looks like at 24 weeks:

After I saw this picture I said to Jared: "I'm not really that huge am I? It's just the shirt right?"

Jared (not wanting to answer) hesitated.

Instead, Kyler chimed in and said "No, you big mommy. You belly is biiiiig!" (and showed me how big with his arms stretched out as far as they could reach).

Hah, leave it to the kids to be brutally honest. :)

Kyler was a planned C-section, because he was breech. I'm really hoping I will be able to have a VBAC this time, for  a lot of reasons, but ultimately I want to do what is best for the babies even if that means another C-section. There are 12 doctors at the office I currently go to, and so far, only one of those doctors is willing to let me try a VBAC, and that's only IF all of these things happen:

1) I go into labor on my own before 36 weeks.
2) Baby boy his head down (our baby A)
3) Baby boy is bigger than baby girl

So basically the odds of all of those things happing is very slim. As of right now, we're planning on having a c-section at 38 weeks, unless they decide to come earlier, and even then I will still most likely have a c-section. While I'm not looking forward to recovery from a C-section again, I'm definitely not going to complain. I'm so grateful to be pregnant again! We've been so blessed, and I'm not going to worry or stress over the little detail of how they will arrive here--- just counting my blessings :)

5 Year anniversary....and Topsail

02 September 2014

Jared and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary by taking a trip to the beach! Usually when we go to the beach it's with other family or friends, but this time it was just us three and that made it all the more special. Topsail Island's 4th of July firework show was postponed (because of the hurricane) ...and they just happened to reschedule the show on our anniversary- perfect!

We almost got a family picture in, but apparently the manual camera setting doesn't focus when you use the it turned out really blurry- and I didn't like the few that weren't blurry (of course haha) but I just love our little family~

A friend gave Kyler this cute little v-tech digital camera, and he took pictures all weekend long! He kept asking us to "Say Cheese!" but his aim is a little off, and most of the time he ends up taking a picture of an elbow and other random things. It's hilarious scrolling through all of the things he takes pictures of.

The weather was perfect all weekend.

We just love family vacations on Topsail Island!
